AIHA established its first partnerships linking US hospitals with their counterparts in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan in 1992. Since then, AIHA has built sustainable health system capacity throughout Eurasia, including Albania, Armenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia and Moldova.
AIHA’s current work in the Asia/Eurasia region includes a CDC funded Blood Safety Project in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Cambodia, as well as a World Bank funded Health Sector Reform project in Kyrgyzstan.
