With support from his family, AIHA launched the Dr. Joseph R. Masci Legacy Project, a new two-year endeavor to strengthen institutional and human resource capacity at two international hospitals – Debre Berhan Comprehensive Specialized Hospital in Ethiopia and Philippine General Hospital in Manilla, Philippines.

Based on the work of three LIP-H graduates, the Oromia Health Bureau recently opened a Staff Clinic in Addis Ababa to promote prevention, early screening, detection, and treatment services that help mitigate noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) among some 9,600 employees of its various sector bureaus.

Through our CDC Targeted Programmatic Support Across Countries Project, AIHA is providing technical assistance for a five-day U=U Campaign Workshop preparing for the launch of a new national program targeting key populations and other groups vulnerable to HIV infection. The workshop is being conducted this week at in Manila by the Philippines Department of Health’s Health Promotion Bureau and the Philippine National AIDS Council.

AIHA announced today the award of a new project supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to strengthen the capacity of the Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Supply Service (EPSS) and improve pharmaceutical supply chain management throughout this East African nation of more than 120 million people.

Former AIHA twinning partners at the University of Pretoria in South Africa hosted a Clinical Associates Research Symposium October 6, 2023.
