This week commemorates World Health Worker Week. AIHA salutes Health Workers around the world. This month also marks AIHA’s 30 year anniversary. For three decades and in more than 40 countries, AIHA has developed health workforce capacity and strengthened health systems.
“Given what we have all experienced in the last two years with the COVID pandemic, it has become abundantly clear how critical it is to have a well-equipped and trained health workforce to fight pandemics, increase global health security, prevent and treat disease, and improve health outcomes overall”, noted AIHA’s President & CEO David Greeley.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) far more resources are needed – both financial and human – in order to support health workers and meet the many health challenges of our time.
