Funding for AIHA’s partnerships and programs has long been rooted in a unique collaboration between the US government and the private sector. In Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, for example, our partnerships are characterized by a remarkable commitment to the program with US partner institutions donating approximately $1.50 in time and supplies for every US government grant dollar spent. Since inception, the total voluntary contribution made by AIHA partners and supporters in this region well exceeds $243 million. The voluntary contribution for other projects depends on circumstances in the host country and the terms of the award.
