We created a four-year course for bachelor's degree in nursing at Erebuni Medical College with the goal of training highly skilled specialists, nurse leaders, and nurse instructors.

We signed an agreement with the State Medical University to establish a two-year comprehensive curriculum. In addition, we developed with American partners the curriculum for the first two years of training, and further developed educational programs for the third and fourth years of training. Ten-day workshops conducted by American faculty at Erebuni Nursing College included ones on educational theory, teaching strategy, curriculum development, models of nursing, and nursing diagnosis. After the workshops, the college faculty were able to put the acquired knowledge to practice.

In order to improve the quality of teaching, the laboratories should be supplied with learning materials, overheads, educational films, computers, copying facilities; a library should be set up.

In the course of work with the faculty and the students, training sessions were conducted to practice first aid delivery. Thirty-five students completed the course.

Through the partnership and AIHA, we have participated in two international nursing conferences and helped in the formation of a nursing association.

In the future, we plan to organize an international conference with the participation of the American-Armenian Nursing Association and establish a resource center at Erebuni Medical College. The work of the partnership has had considerable valuable impact that has laid the groundwork for future achievements.
