Today our country is in a transitional period, and the AIHA partnership program facilitates nursing development as one of the most important facets of public health. No health reforms will occur without improvement of nursing.
Through the efforts of doctors, nurses and the administration of the Niyazov Medical-Consultative Center, an educational center model is being drawn up, where nurses' postgraduate training is planned. This is one stage of implementing the President's Health Program on development of nursing on a national level and improvement of nursing quality and management. A group of high-quality, experienced nurse leaders is set up in the Center; they help young nurses acquire and improve their professional knowledge and skills.
All the hospital nurses are divided into professional groups, such as head nurses, medical procedures nurses, instrument nurses, ward nurses, and nurse dietitians. For each professional group a program of training in professional skills is worked out. Conferences on pressing public health issues are held every month. A text book is being developed: Situational Tasks and Tests: Standards control for Instrument Nurses and Anesthesiology Nurses.
Participation in the partnership has provided an opportunity to share achievements, to learn from each other's experiences, and to think about the future. For the future of our profession and for the benefit of our nation's health, it is important to arrange meetings, conferences with participation of leaders of nursing on a regular basis, on national, inter-regional and international levels to exchange opinions, discuss common problems and jointly search for their solutions.
