During 1995 and 1996, numerous medical reforms have taken place at the Perinatal Center. These have been aimed at improving medical care for pregnant women, women in labor, and newborns. The Perinatal Center has served as a model for restructuring other departments. The most significant changes have been seen in anesthesiology, where four anesthesiologists enhanced their skills. As a result of advanced training in epidural anesthesia, we have reduced complications and successfully used epidural anesthesia for Cesarean sections.
