Nurses have an important role in managing changes in the health care system. Any unit of a hospital or clinic is a complex system of elements, many of which are interconnected. If we change a part of the organization, it will create changes in many other parts. In order to deal with these changes, we studied seven of the most important components in the organization of nursing management and subsequent reforms:

  1. Long-term goals must be a priority. They reflect what the unit should do and how it will be done.

  2. The style of nursing management combines direction from both head nurses and higher administration. The aphorism "Actions speak louder than words" helps to define this style of management.

  3. Structure of the unit is important because this demonstrates how various organization elements interact with each other. A strategy is vital to implement plans developed for the improvement of overall unit activity.

  4. A systematic approach must be taken to ensure all elements interact in an organized manner.

  5. Staff component shows how the organization treats its nursing staff.

  6. The skills of the nursing staff reflect the development of the educational program for nurses and doctors' assistants.

The study of these seven components in the organization of nursing staff activity allowed us to effectively balance nursing needs and resources with expectations of our patients to achieve higher productivity and optimization of treatment and diagnosis.
