AIHA's Women's Wellness Centers (WWCs) represent a new model of healthcare delivery for women, providing a client-centered approach to women's primary healthcare through services that address women's health needs from puberty to post-menopause. WWCs are established in the NIS and CEE by AIHA healthcare partners dedicated to serving the needs of women in areas that have been traditionally overlooked by conventional medical approaches. Their mission of empowering women by helping them understand and address their specific health concerns has led many women to improve their quality of life.
WWCs provide a comprehensive range of clinical and educational services at ambulatory care facilities, including the prevention, screening, and early detection of disease. Health promotion services include classes and support groups that can address topics from substance abuse to coping with cancer. Several WWCs incorporate Breast Care Programs, in which both clinicians and patients develop a greater awareness of the implications of breast cancer and assume more responsibility for preventive measures.
