Eritrean Partner: The Orotta School of Medicine and its affiliated teaching hospitals serve as the Eritrean partner. OSM is Eritrea’s only medical school, established in 2002, and is located in the capital city of Asmara. It is anticipated that other health professions schools, particularly a nursing school, may be incorporated into the partnership program.
Partnership Objectives
The partnership is designed to strengthen medical education in Eritrea and to prepare the country to better meet its health workforce needs in the future. To meet this goal, the partnership focuses specifically on: faculty development; institutional management, particularly in regard to management of hospital affiliates; and improved integration of nursing and other allied health professionals into provision of health care services.
